![]() "JPOP Xfile" conceals its progressive underpinnings beneath a surprisingly radio-friendly veneer, while "A 7days Wonder" is driven by a nearly danceable beat and is easily one of the album's best tracks. It's Sigure's first track based entirely around acoustic guitar, and offers strong melodies as Miyoko Nakamura's bass and Pierre Nakano's drums propel the song's rhythm section. "Tremolo+A" is proof that despite maintaining a consistent and recognizable sound, the band is not constrained by their distinctive tastes. The opening tracks deliver a seamless fusion of furious rock and calmer passages in an unpredictable manner, while balancing them out with a more deliberate pace compared to their usual, breakneck progressions. If the single, the first from 2009's just A moment, was a deliberate attempt to show the band's perpetually restless spirit, the rest of the album shows Kitajima and his bandmates branching out beyond their post-hardcore roots to tackle a wider range of emotions than any of their previous albums. Pounding the listener with a blazing power rock assault before easing into the driving verse, it's immediately clear that high-strung guitarist/vocalist Toru Kitajima is still in firm control of his band as the group careens through their chaotic songcraft. Fortunately, any concerns that the trio's high-octane rock onslaught would be diluted by major-label meddling were subsequently blown away by "Telecastic Fake Show," the band's first single under the new label. Some, like Sonic Youth and Thrice, have done quite well under major labels, while other bands have been less fortunate.Īny fan of Japanese indie luminaries Ling Tosite Sigure might have met the band's decision to join Sony Music with similar trepidation. We've all seen it happen: an artist with tremendous creative potential jumps at the chance to gain millions of fans, not to mention money, and their songcraft is strangled in an attempt to make more accessible music. It's always a disconcerting experience when a well-regarded young indie rock band makes the transition to a major label. The reason why I wrote this article is just that I love their music and I want many people to listen to it.Review Summary: Sigure's major-label debut is a dynamic portrait of a brilliant band at their best. If my English is not correct, give me a message on youtube. I also know the future that I can see now. I could give the future that I lost yesterday to someone. ![]() What was your name? My fingers are getting transparent, right here. One day I imagined "The heart line to your everything" (I totally don't know what this means.) The iron-ish phrase makes me dizzy, and I want to be disrupted. My fingers are getting transparent, and I'm getting closer to you. Who started me? Therefore, I will just translate the lylics into English directly. Because, in addition to my inadequate English proficiency, their lylics don't make sense even in Japanese. However, I'm sure that this work is gonna be tough for a couple of reason. Since I found some foreigners struggling to tranlate Ling toshite shigure's song to English on youtube, I decided to try to help them.
